Shawn Fleet Brings Nearly 3 Decades of Experience as Neel-Schaffer’s new Georgia Transportation Leader

ATLANTA, Ga. (February 18, 2025) –Neel-Schaffer is pleased to announce that Shawn Fleet, PE, has been hired as the firm’s Georgia Transportation Leader.

Shawn has nearly 30 years of transportation design and management experience, having worked with a diverse range of clients, including municipalities, counties, and state agencies across Georgia. His expertise spans major roadway and interchange projects as well as local infrastructure improvements.

In his new role, Shawn will focus on expanding Neel-Schaffer’s roadway discipline throughout Georgia, serving existing clients and fostering new relationships with cities, counties, and transportation agencies.

“One of my key objectives is to grow our roadway design services in Georgia, both with our current clients and by building new relationships,” said Justin Wood, PE, DBIA, Neel-Schaffer’s new Engineering Manager for Georgia Operations. “Shawn is highly respected across the state and has strong connections with many of our key clients, including the Georgia Department of Transportation and numerous municipalities.”

Shawn has managed numerous significant projects throughout his career, including the SR 10 (Atlanta Highway) at SR 10 Loop Interchange in Clarke County, the South Calhoun Bypass and Union Grove Road Widening and New Interchange at I-75 in Calhoun, the Bob Callan Trunk Trail, Phase II – Section B in Cobb County, and Seven Hills Boulevard & Connector in Paulding County.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology from the Southern Polytechnic State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia and a Level II Certified Design Professional through the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission.
